Work at whatever
It doesn't matter how long you've been in comedy to get results. It matters about the work you put into it and how often you do it! Are you funnier than you were last year? Have you learned anything new? Have you updated jokes and resurrected any old ones from years ago? Are you polished and making your witty comments look unrehearsed or cliche generic stuff in a can?
Are you authentic to your sence of comedy? Are you a believer in your comedy? Are you consistantly getting laughs even if you are not killing it or just getting lucky off a great drunk crowd every time? Be honest! Are you getting real perspective on your comedy from other comics or true friends? Are you getting booked as a feature or emcee or headliner or are you being replaced more often than not?
Ask yourself if this lights up your soul when you talk of comedy or if this drains you and makes you feel worse. It's going to be a mixed bag but if the bad outweighs the good, maybe take a break and come back when or if you want to. Maybe stand up isn't for you and you would rather just write comedy, or watch comedy or even make videos. Many bad stand ups had successful careers. Many great stand ups had shitty careers, but they continue to do stand up anyway bc they love it.
If it's more good than bad when it comes to stand up on your comparison list, keep at it and it should never be about selling out unless you are really just after the money. If you truly love to make people laugh bc you yourself loves to laugh, then that can just as well be a great hobby and a great way to spend your time as a casual part time comic.
There are no rules. Do what you love regardless of the outcome...within reason..if you love destroying other lives, don't do that...assess what works and what doesn't. It ain't easy but it can be worth it...and like all things you get what you put into it. (Excuse the cliche) Cheers to your journey regardless.it is you want to achieve

MY dream was to get Comedy in my town of Kailua and I was so happy to see that come to fruition even if it was not my production. I want to Thank Brett and Lisa and Reese Paul for having me perform. I am all about finding the humor in any situation. I like to go light when it's dark and dark when it's light.
I will take a premise and set it up and punch it down. I will add tags till I have exhausted the joke. I am open to changing how I feel about any situation. I will never steal a joke from anyone . If any part of my joke is suggested to me and given to me, I will ask if I can have it, otherwise it does not belong to me. I am will always be professional! I come on time and respect the light. I do the best I can and work on my set and always try to evolve. I will add, take away and reconstruct my set due to new material and making it sound fresh. I will always work on my set, even if I am not set to do one. My brain works in funny ways. I don't easily get offended. I take things in stride. I will forgive easily if I jump to any conclusions. I have no problem standing corrected if I am. I am all about humor and shedding the light in dark situations and finding the dark in light situations. Please know I am a bit twisted and am very into observational humor. I have a big heart, but I also make jokes for laughter and cringe sake. I do not offend people out of nowhere. I had a great childhood, and Love to spread humor and laughter. I am not miserable, but I can be if you need me to be. I just like to laugh a lot as I think is so necessary. I am all about a healthy journey and Laughter is one of the pillars of health comedy club stand up comedian entertainer . In fact you can follow my Instagram stories under the handle @Victoriathecomedian to see what I mean as I take you into a glimpse into my world. At your own risk!
